How to collect RSVPs for an Indian wedding, including from relatives who do not use apps
Put the reply form inside the invitation so a guest replies in two taps without an app or an account. Send two reminders in the family group. For relatives who will not tap anything, one person phones and enters the reply for them.

Why RSVP fails at Indian weddings
Not because people are rude. Because the ask is wrong. A printed card says RSVP with two phone numbers, which asks a guest to make a phone call to say yes, and nobody makes that call.
Reduce it to two taps inside the invitation they are already reading, and the reply rate changes completely.
The method
Four steps. The last one is the one everybody forgets.
- Put the reply inside the invitation. No form to open, no email, no account.
- Ask for the number in the party, not just yes or no. A reception is counted in plates.
- Send two reminders, at three weeks and at two weeks, both with the same link. Most replies arrive within two days of a reminder.
- Make a phone list for the relatives who will never tap a button, hand it to one cousin, and have them enter the replies. Twenty calls is an afternoon and it closes the gap.
What to do with the guests who never reply
Assume eighty per cent of the silent guests are coming, and tell the caterer that number. In practice, at an Indian wedding, silence means yes far more often than it means no.
Handing the list to the caterer
The caterer does not want a screenshot. Download the replies as a PDF for printing or as an Excel sheet for the venue's own planning, and send that.
Common questions
Put the reply form inside the invitation itself so it takes two taps, ask for the number in the party, send two reminders in the family group, and phone the relatives who will not use it.
Give one family member a list of those guests and have them phone and record the answers. The invitation needs no app, but some relatives still prefer a call, and twenty calls closes the gap.
Yes, as a PDF for printing or an Excel sheet for the venue and the caterer.
